Celui-ci r\u00e9sulte d&rsquo;une greffe de mandarinier sur un bigaradier, cet oranger indien introduit en M\u00e9diterran\u00e9e via l&rsquo;Orient arabe. Fr\u00e8re Cl\u00e9ment, le p\u00e8re de la cl\u00e9mentine, appellation approuv\u00e9e d\u00e8s 1902 par la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 alg\u00e9roise d&rsquo;agriculture, n&rsquo;imagine pas sur le moment le devenir du petit fruit qu&rsquo;il vient de d\u00e9guster. La cl\u00e9mentine sera introduite en Corse avec succ\u00e8s par les pieds-noirs.
